John G. Bowen, CPA, CFP®
 John Bowen is co-founder of Bowen|Fuller Wealth Advisors and founder and principal of the predecessor firm Bowen Financial Services, LLC (BFS) a fee-only financial planning and investment advisory firm in Midlothian, Virginia. He is a Certified Public Accountant, and a Certified Financial Planner.
John is a cum laude graduate of the State University of New York where he received his BS in Accounting in 1980. He is a member of the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA), the Virginia State Society of CPAs (VSCPA) and the Richmond Private Business Study Group. In addition, John is a member and past President of the James River Kiwanis Club and served on the Board of Directors of the Huguenot Trail Rotary Club. He served a three year term on the Board of the Chesterfield Business Council. John is past President of the Central Virginia Chapter of the Financial Planning Association. John has been named a Super CPA by Virginia Business Magazine for 2005, 2006 and 2007.
While serving as a Senior Tax Manager with the international accounting firm KPMG, John was responsible for providing innovative tax solutions to Fortune 1000 companies, their executives and owners of smaller successful businesses. He also instructed one of KPMG's national training programs on the taxation of partnerships, S-corporations and their owners.
In 1992, Mr. Bowen founded John G. Bowen & Company, LLC, Certified Public Accountants and Tax Advisors. The firm focuses on the tax planning, financial planning and tax compliance needs of executives, professionals and successful small businesses. During 1997, he affiliated with a broker/dealer in order to satisfy his clients' desires to help them invest their money. However, he quickly became disenchanted with the inherent conflict of interest associated with broker/dealers and established BFS as a Fee-Only Registered Investment Advisor. Mr. Bowen successfully challenged the Certified Financial Planner exam in 1998.
John and Arlene, his wife of 25+ years, have two children, Jack and Cynthia and numerous pets including two retired Greyhounds. John's hobbies include large format, black & white photography and golf.

Wendell B. Fuller, CFP®

Wendell B. Fuller is co-founder of Bowen|Fuller Wealth Advisors after extensive experience in advising and managing assets of affluent families and individuals for ten years with JoycePayne Partners where he was financial strategist for clients in all areas of their wealth management initiatives.

He excels at making sophisticated financial planning and investment strategies accessible and easily understandable for all clients. Wendell particularly loves the combination of personal consulting and financial analysis afforded by this work.
Wendell’s broad and diverse experiences in working with clients varying from corporate executives, managers and employees to medical professionals, college professors, retirees and small business owners have allowed him to build an expertise integrating unique and specific planning and investment strategies that suit any client’s individual needs and requirements according to their life objectives. Wendell possesses specialized skills in portfolio design and allocation, managing concentrated equity positions, stock options, portfolio optimization, ongoing investment management and implementing investment strategies developed to address financial, tax and estate planning issues. Other areas of expertise include cash flow and retirement planning, education planning, philanthropic gifting and risk management. He is also uniquely skilled in the planning and implementation of real estate acquisitions, business planning and life event planning.
Prior to entering the fee-only financial planning and investment management field, Wendell worked for six years with Invensys plc, a global leader in industrial process automation software. He began his career as an Electrical Engineer with Philip Morris USA where he honed his many quantitative and analytical skills for more than eight years.
Wendell graduated from Memphis State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. Wendell is constantly expanding his expertise and knowledge by actively participating as a Registered Financail Advisor of the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA) and serving on the Board of Directors of the Financial Planning Association of Central Virginia as Director of Pro Bono and Public Relations.
Wendell has been married to his wife Lisa for 18 years and they have two beautiful daughters, Elise and Ava which are his heart and soul. Wendell enjoys golf, woodworking and “building things” as well as listening to and performing music. |
